Our Getting Started with Digital Photography course is ideal for those that are new to photography, those that are upgrading from a point and shoot compact camera and those wanting to understand how their camera works in more detail. The aim for all, regardless of their current skill level, is to take better photographs.
The course is designed to look at the building blocks of photography, and how these are brought together to produce a successful photograph. By understanding the elements of photography, the controls and functions offered by digital cameras, along with a number of techniques, delegates will be able to both improve and enjoy their photography a lot more.
During the course, we will provide numerous, illustrative examples to help explain each topic. Bring your camera along and try out what you learn as you go with a number of useful exercises.

Who is this course suitable for?
We’ve designed this course for those either new to photography as well as those that want to understand more about how to get the best from their camera.
Delegates may have purchased their first digital camera or may have upgraded from film to digital, but now want to become more creative with their photography, moving away from the “Full Auto” setting. The Getting Started with Digital Photography course is suitable for users of compact, bridge, compact system cameras (CSC) and also digital SLR (DSLR) camera owners, or those considering purchasing a digital camera.
Pre-requisites for this course
There are no prerequisites to attend the Getting Started with Digital Photography course and it is suitable as a photography beginners course. Delegates should ideally already own a digital camera in order to practice what they learn on the course, and as soon as possible after the course.
Course Timings and Locations
Courses generally run on Saturdays from 09:00 to 12.30.
Haddenham based courses are held at Chiltern House.
Thame based courses are held at The Thame Barns Centre.
Princes Risborough based courses are held at Lower Hall, Princes Risborough Baptist Church.
