Once a year, photographers embark on a pilgrimage to the NEC in Birmingham. They set off with a mental list, or maybe an actual list, of things they want to look at, research and buy. Why? What’s happening in Birmingham?
Focus on Imaging is Europe’s largest annual imaging show – covering everything you can possibly think of for the photographer – amateur, semi-pro or pro. All the big manufacturers are there and perhaps hundreds of small ones too – plus everything in between.
There are demonstrations, presentations, hands on opportunities, experts to quiz, ideas to be had and there are always some pretty decent bargains to snap up.
The show takes place between 4th and 7th March, at The NEC – register in advance at the show website www.focus-on-imaging.co.uk
The Crufts of the Photography world in the UK. The only opportunity to see so many suppliers to the industry under one roof. Some of the speakers on the individual stands are worth a visit as well as negotiating a good price for the latest gear. I always find it a good visit but end up leaving exhausted having gone round the the halls a number of times.
